Congratulations! Congratulations to Hyde Park students Michael and Justin for their first and fourth place finishes in the CCSD Algebra I Contest held recently at Spring Valley HS. The top four finishers received gift cards to Best Buy. Additionally, Michael received a one year scholarship to UNLV. Congratulations to Rachel, Eldorado HS, for being selected as an American Voices and National Gold Award winner in the 2007 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition. Rachel's remarkable accomplishment began this year with her writing being submitted along with more than 100,000 works of art and writing to regional competitions. Rachel was awarded first place in the "humor" category in our region. Her work was forwarded with approximately 25,000 other winning works of art and writing to a national level of adjudication. Of these entries, only 177 Gold Awards were selected - of which Rachel was one. Rachel is now a candidate for scholarships ranging from $1,000 to full tuition. Way to go Rachel! Congratulations to ATA students Bronson, Silver Medalist/Computer Maintenance Technology, Cameron, Bronze Medalist/Electronics Technology, and Jorge, Gold Medalist/Electronics Technology at the recent Nevada Association of SkillsUSA. |
